The Open Book

"I see an intense little girl offering me a big blank open book, big white pages she is on my front right and the book is bound in blue, she wants me to look at the book. It's a bit like braille except it isnt braille, the raised bits fluctuate..I think when you run your fingers over the page there is some magnetism in your fingers that draws relevant bits of braille text to appear. The intial feeling was that it's not hidden, its right in front of your face but you do need to look at it. The text varies depending what you draw to the surface of the page. This braille stuff permeates all the pages, not just the top page, if your magnetics change of course the whole text changes. I think the point is that if all the braille were raised at the same time you would have a book of solid lead or something unreadable (or one of the points). But with a delicate hand and a sure focus you can draw different parts out. Now the girl is smiling, she closes the book and gives me a red bound one now, these pages are smeared, dirty...not sure what to make of this book, it seems that the ink has run and there is no braille, hmm.....well I don't like this book so much so she takes it back and smiles and asks do I prefer the braille book and I do. The printed book the ink has run and the pages are stuck, the braille book, it might seem harder to read but there is magic in it and potential. It's too late to salvage the old book, it is a ruined artefact. ok lets see the girl again... she says her name is Fiona (Franci?), she's dark haired about 7 with green eyes and she's showing me over on the left a little in front, is a golden football, you know with facets, soccer ball? We seem to be in a dark cave like room (she says you already understand about the books) The golden facteted ball is dripping through the cracks now, not sure why....not so much melting as simply changing form and moving in different directions, creeping, infiltrating the darkest cracks and seams yes alive, it's not gravity related movement, the ball still looks the same however, despite all these rivulets, but not losing any of itself in the process. Keep think of the word fracking for some reason. Filling the cracks.fracks ~ with golden rivulats (they're still attached to that ball however) for lighting the darkest deepest cracks and crannys. It seems like alchemy doesn't it, not about the metal gold however! doh! all these centuries! ok Im going back to the girl, I see her whole body now not just the head, and she holds her skirt out to the sides, its dark and has squares of same colour patches all along the hem (not sure why), there is a feeling of liquid yellow green coming from her eyes that's intense. I feel the cool white plumpness of her upper arm and then she climbs up my arm somehow, and she disappeared into the back of my neck and now I dont see her"
"we're all so focused (well some of us!) on upheaval and change that simply the rain is so timelessly normal. Like the braille book, all the timelessly normal stuff is in there too, whether it's drawn to the surface text or not, the unchanging timelessness of , perhaps its Natural time, natural seasons, not clock time, tides, cycles maybe. Like clouds and rain and rivers and oceans and clouds, a circle, you can focus on the high tide or the lashing rain but without seeing the rest of the cycle or circle. It's like the braille book, it's all there, all the time. You continue to draw out the usual, without knowing you can draw out something else. That book was literally right under my nose, and like she said, you do need to actually LOOK at it, draw out different text. The same water that washes your house away is the same water that is making daisies grow. (Jim: What if we put one hand inside the book and closed it? feel the hand completely surrounded with moving braille text). I can feel it, the raised bits that used to fit without poking you because they fit the contours, the shape has shifted and the raised bits are poking in places they didnt poke before because the old text doesnt fit the new shape. But instead of thinking this goddam text is poking me all over, but not changing the raised text, its poking in the places that requite a different type of magnetics to draw out the hidden or submerged texts...like it's not a head shift, its literally millions of points (or something!) a more all encompassing body consciousness aware kind of awareness. more awareness of the potential for drawing out the unseen and less rsistance to the bits that are poking and not fitting the new contour. Ok I get that, by jove, but in a much bigger way. By george I think we're on to something .I think I can use the imagery of that book and going inside it and feeling that braille, it's a useful symbolism. The importance not of the raised text but the importance of the potential of the submerged text, and the knowledge of the ability to draw it out"
Many thanks to Jim Cox for masterful prompts, and to Julie for the seeds.
